Former Radio City host Scott Hughes joins Virgin Radio Anthems – RadioToday


Former Radio City Afternoon Presenter Scott Hughes has joined Virgin Radio Anthems to host the weekday afternoon show.

Scott resumed the program on November 25 and can be heard on the national digital station Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 10 a.m.

Speaking about his new show, Scott Hughes told RadioToday: “I am so happy to have joined such an amazing team of people and to be on a station that plays such great music. I am very excited about the future of Virgin Radio UK stations in 2020. ”

Scott spent nearly a decade at Radio City, which he joined in 2004 before moving to Century Radio North West in 2008 to co-host Drive with Glen Hunt. He then worked for Capital FM in London before returning to Radio City in 2014. He also currently presents an F1 podcast titled 2 Soft Compounds with Rick Houghton.

He also worked at Essex FM and Ten-17.

Virgin Radio Anthems plays classic guitar-led tracks from the 60s to 90s and targets over 35 audiences, and takes on Virgin Radio UK’s Chris Evans Breakfast Show.

In RAJAR’s latest round – spanning July through September 2019 – the Virgin Radio network (including Virgin Radio, Virgin Anthems and Virgin Chilled) reached 1.64 million (up 303% year on year), offering 9, 2 million hours (up 508% year on year).
